All American: Dylan Lauren & Iron Horse Wines

Dylan Lauren, daughter of the classic American designer Ralph Lauren, not only has an eye for fashion and candy, but an eye for wine as well. The candy store icon served up the prestigious wines from Iron Horse Vineyards, one of America’s favorite sparkling wine houses at her bridal shower last week. Dylan is engaged to Investment manager, Paul Arrouet.

NJ retailer River Road Wines provided the wines. In addition to fulfilling every-day demands for NJ and NY area clients, River Road customizes selections for elegant taste-maker affairs such as these, corporate parties and can get orders for delivery to clients fast.

The candy-themed bridal shower, sweetly hosted by Darcy Miller, Editorial Director for Martha Stewart Weddings showcased Estate Chardonnay & Wedding Cuvee. Guests sipped wine while paired with delicious food fare. (Courtesy of Callahan Catering).

Some attendees included style glitterati: Ricki Lauren, Lauren Bush, Sylvia Weinstock, Bob Verdi, Shoshanna Lonstein-Gruss, Kelly Bensimon, Tory Burch, Essie Weingaren, Pamela Fiori, Glenda Bailey (Harper’s Bazaar), Andre Leon Talley (Vogue) and Lucy Danziger (Self).

Just as Polo or anything Ralph Lauren is associated with the U.S.A., Iron Horse is renowned for being iconically American. The wine brand appears alongside iPod, Coca-Cola and Tiffany’s in a Random House coffee table book (published in 2007). And these wines have also been served at historic White House and universal themed events: The Reagan-Gorbachev Summit, Jenna Bush’s wedding (Jenna, a cousin to Dylan’s soon to be sister-in-law Lauren Bush) and for an Earth Day celebration at the vineyard on April 17th, 2011.

Speaking of tradition, Dylan is continuing the family legacy — as a lifelong candy aficionado and the founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar, a sweet shop sensation; it’s flagship location is next to Bloomingdale’s in Manhattan where Dylan has merged fashion, art and pop culture. And it is said that style magnates the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen and the Beckham’s make it a habit of stopping in. The concept is a line of boutique stores scattered throughout the country stocking colorful candy from around the globe and partnering with other large retailers (such as Saks, Sephora & Neiman Marcus) for spa products too. In fact: The Candy Bar in New York City is so popular it’s become a destination spot for tourists, kids and adults. And yes: It’s even got the Oprah Winfrey seal of approval!
